Kacey Musgraves is clearing the air after she went viral for her reaction to losing to Beyoncé at the 2025 Grammys.

Musgraves’ sixth studio album, “Deeper Well,” had been nominated for Best Country Album, alongside Post Malone’s “F-1 Trillion,” Chris Stapleton’s “Higher,” Lainey Wilson’s “Whirlwind” and Beyoncé’s “Cowboy Carter.”

After “Cowboy Carter” was crowned the winner at Sunday’s ceremony in Los Angeles, making Beyoncé the first Black woman to win Best Country Album, the singer’s shocked reaction rocketed around the web.

While many attendees at the function beamed over Queen Bey’s victory, Musgraves was caught on camera with what seemed like a tense expression. Social media users couldn’t help but take note.

Now, Musgraves is addressing the drama via her representative.

“It’s a sensationalistic, false narrative meant to pit two talented female artists against each other,” Musgrave’s rep told E! News on Monday.

Musgraves, who won Best Country Song for “The Architect” at this year’s Grammys, has previously rejoiced over newcomers joining the country genre.

“The more the fucking merrier,” Musgraves told The Cut in March 2024 interview. “I don’t really care. It doesn’t affect what I’m doing. It doesn’t affect me. I’ve always been just doing my own thing.”

She added, “It’s just fun to watch.”
